About the Isaiah 61 Ministry
The Isaiah 61 Ministry was launched in May 2021. We are an inner healing ministry. In this ministry we act as a midwife to the Holy Spirit as He heals and restores relationship with God, through Jesus. This restoration helps us live life more abundantly. (2 Cor. 5:21, Jn. 10:10)
Through interactive prayer, each person is taught and equipped to take authority over their circumstances. The Holy Spirit is able to bring freedom from the blockages and lies of the enemy These lies have kept us from understanding the unconditional love of God and the freedom that he desires for us. (Ephesians 3:14)
In each session, we work on healing the soul, which is our mind, will emotions. These have been damaged simply by living in this fallen world. There is absolutely no judgment, shame, guilt, or condemnation in whatever may be holding us captive. The love of Jesus is so deep and unconditional that there is nothing so dirty that He cannot make clean. There is no secret too dark that we cannot receive this merciful healing simply through God’s grace. This is one of the reasons Jesus died on the cross.
God’s Word says that when we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Isaiah 61 is a place where we can confess our sins one to another to be healed. (1 Jn 1:9, James 5:16). Jesus, lovingly awaits for our confession in order to set us free and bring restoration.

What is Living Rock's Isaiah 61 Ministry?
Isaiah 61 is simply the name of a specific prayer ministry at Living Rock that aims to help people find freedom from barriers that may keep us from experiencing joy and peace in Christ. We've given this prayer ministry a name to differentiate it from several of our other prayer teams that may minister at specific times or may have a different purpose such as our intercessory prayer team, our Sunday ministry team, or our pre-service prayer team.
Why does Living Rock have a specific ministry for this?
As we walk through the fallen world, we all accumulate damage to our souls, which is the mind, will and emotions. Isaiah 61 prayer provides a safe space to process these wounds and receive healing.
How does scripture figure into the Isaiah 61 Ministry?
TThe promises and principles found in God's Word are the basis for all effective prayer ministry. The Living Rock Isaiah 61 team is committed to ministering in a way that is solidly biblical. If it is not a biblical principle, we do not do it. This strong biblical grounding gives the Holy Spirit room to do what only he can do. We seek to be humble before the Lord and to honor the people who come for ministry. We also maintain a strong system of accountability and confidentiality.
What does a prayer time look like?
Each prayer time will be scheduled for up to 2 1/2 hours. During a prayer time, you will meet with 2-3 prayer team members, usually with at least one team member of the same gender. One team member will primarily lead the prayer time with help from the other two members. This team will have been praying on your behalf prior your appointment, and will be seeking the Lord’s leading during the actual prayer time as well. The prayer time will center on Scripture and trusting the Holy Spirit to lead through applicable areas such as forgiveness, repentance, identifying and removing lies or ungodly beliefs, confession of sin, and receiving God’s truth and His heart towards you. There will also be a time of blessing during the prayer session. Both you and the team will be active participants in the prayer time as we seek the Lord’s heart together.
Someone can accompany you to the appointment but will be asked to wait outside the prayer room. We will take abbreviated notes during the prayer time, so you can remember what transpired and share with others as you feel comfortable.
At the conclusion of your appointment, we’ll give you any notes we’ve taken during prayer, so you can remember what the Lord has done in our time together. We’ll also share scripture with you as we feel led, give you some information on next steps you can take to continue in your healing and encourage you to come back for more prayer as often as you feel led.
Are there qualifications to receive prayer?
There are no specific qualifications necessary, but for a person to gain freedom, he or she must be honest and desire to be free, and willing to submit to God’s word. It is ideal if the person is a Christian, ready to deal with sin and repent, and if applicable, willing to be transparent and honest about the places that are hidden that he/she would not want anyone to know about. The person must be willing to forgive others and let go of judgment. He/she must want freedom and not just relief. Finally, one should expect God to lead the prayer time and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, without false expectations or prejudicial notions of what should occur.
Is my Prayer Session confidentional?
Everything that is said and done is held in the strictest of confidence. The only exception to the team keeping confidentiality would be if there appears to be personal danger. If this is case, the prayer team may be obligated to share that information for your safety or the safety of others.
Can I receive prayer if I'm not a member of Living Rock Church?
Prayer is open to anyone who desires to meet for prayer whether you are member of Living Rock Church or not. However, our goal is that everyone who comes to pray will be a part of true Christian community.
Can I sign up for a friend or family member?
If you know of someone you believe needs prayer, please direct them to this website so they can explore what the process entails and sign up for a prayer time on their own. It is important that the person coming for prayer understands what they are signing up for and have made an independent decision that this is something they want to request for themselves.
Can I bring a child for prayer?
Yes, you can bring a child for prayer. Depending on the child’s age and comfort, most often prayer would be with the child and the child’s parent or guardian. It is strongly recommended that parents first experience this prayer ministry for themselves which not only brings healing to the parents, but also aids in helping them understand what their children will be experiencing. What if I'm under the care of psychiatrist, psycologist, or counselor?
We recommend that you consult with the person(s) whom you are under the care of and get their permission before scheduling a prayer time. While likely a prayer time will only enhance your progress towards freedom, we respect and partner with practitioners and would advise that they are aware of areas covered in the prayer time. While we are a prayer ministry, we are not trained or authorized in licensed counseling or medical practice. We recommend that you continue in whatever treatment you are currently receiving and consult your doctor about your therapy and/or medications.
The prayer team is comprised of "trained" team members - what does that entail?
The Isaiah team members complete an in-depth training over several months, including going through their own personal Isaiah 61 session. Our members are trained in confidentiality and are also trained in recognizing when an addiction or problem may require outside help. Members are trained regarding when to speak and when to wait; remember, the purpose is to give the Holy Spirit room to do what Jesus promised (John 14:13, 16:18). The Isaiah 61 ministry team are not trained or licensed professionals of counseling, therapy, or medical services. The team members are, to the best of their ability, doing what they can to help you achieve more freedom in your life.
Can a Christian be possessed by Demons?
A born again Christian cannot be possessed by demons. The moment we accept Jesus Christ into our heart as Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit instantly dwells in us and seals our spirit. We belong to Him only. A born again, believer CAN however, be harassed by demons. This is called demonization. Demons can remain around us, but cannot enter us. This harassment or demonization may occur for the following reasons: our own sinful choices (Eph. 4:27, Mt. 10:8, Acts 8:23), through hurtful actions of others (Mt. 6:12, 14-15), by being deceived by the lies of the enemy (1 Tim 4:1-3), and/or through trauma and chronic pain (2 Cor 12:8) Take hope! With the desire to be free as well as your willingness to confess and repent, you will experience more freedom, more power, and most importantly, you will experience the incredible love of Jesus Christ more deeply.
